Isola (island) = isolation. This autobiographical show, isnpired by a voyage and episodes from the creator's childhood, analyzes the many reasons for immigrating, the yearning to seek out a larger, more fertile world, and also the effects of cultural differences and cultural segregation. Isola juxtaposes two completely different islands, Sardinia and Manhattan, contrasting the slow life & emptiness of the one with the claustrophobia and hyperactivity of the other, while pointing out the similar feelings of isolation experienced by the inhabitants of each.

Cast: Manuela Urru (as Guido's mother), Federico Tuveri (as Guido as a child), Nana Masuda (as an islander from Japan), Michael Moore (as an islander from Manhattan)

"Roudtrip to America: On Stage Guido Tuveri"
L'Unione Sarda, Tuesday, December 2, 2003
By Monica Perozzi

"In life there are brilliant persons, rare rays of sun. Guido Tuveri is one of them. And his dance is just the same. He knows the cacaphony and remembers that which the majority of dancers have forgotten, his roots, his memories. . . . His talent is undescrible and a true gift of nature."
