Centering & Performance Skills
A new class by Guido Tuveri
This class is intended for anyone who desires to re-center himself in his approach to dance and optimize his performing abilities in general. The work in a centering class is meditative as well as physical. The focus is on stretching, elongating muscles, using the healing power of the breath.
In the class you will be encouraged to open up to others emotionally and physically, engaging in partnering exercises and partner assisted stretches; to make extensive use of your voice as a means of expression and release; to work on your improvisation skills; to re-balance your body’s energy using yoga asanas, exchanged massage, and foot reflexology; to use positive affirmations to transform your approach to dance and to strengthen your performing power; and to express yourself fully by breaking through your fears in a supportive environment.
After teaching my own modern based technique for more than 17 years in 11 different countries around the world, I am developing a new approach to training and performing. The class will not follow specific routine or focus on repetition of movement, but instead will vary from day to day, finding inspiration in specific individual needs or group dynamics. The class is open to all levels and technical backgrounds.
